On the Turquoise Trail east of Santa Fe is the sleeping town of Cerrillos, New Mexico. The Tano Indians were the first people in the Cerrillos area and were the slave labor to the Spanish mines rich with gold and turquoise. The mines were rediscovered, and the town was established by miners from Leadville, Colorado in 1879. Image size: 24"H x 36"W x 1"D
